Location: The meeting will be held in the Acacia Conference Room at the California State park at the Asilomar Conference Grounds, located at 800 Asilomar Blvd, Pacific Grove, Ca. 03950, (831) 372-8016.  All buildings are designated non-smoking.  To preserve the refuge atmosphere, guest rooms are free from the distractions of televisions and telephones.  Public telephones are available.


Schedule:  Earlybirds” may arrive the afternoon of Sunday, May 15 to enjoy the grounds and have an informal dinner at 6.  The formal meetings will begin at 9 AM Monday, Sept. 16, and end at 6 PM, September 17.

 

Cost:   The Omidyar Foundation has graciously offered to pick up the costs of the meeting room, so there will be no registration fee.   Participants are responsible for their costs for lodging and food.  We will be collecting $20 per day per person to cover the cost of continental breakfast, lunch, and morning and afternoon breaks.  Attendees who do not stay at the conference grounds must pay a day-use fee of $8 per person if they drive in.  Rooms are available at the conference grounds for $103.48 per night single occupancy and $110.60 double occupancy and include breakfast. Driving directions: Asilomar is approximately 120 miles south of downtown San Francisco (about 105 miles from San Francisco International Airport) and about 75 miles south of San Jose. Take Highway 101 South to Highway 156 West to Highway 1 South to Highway 68 West to Pacific Grove. Highway 68 West overlaps a portion of Highway 1 for about 4 miles. Stay on Highway 68 West/Highway 1 and take the Pacific Grove exit. For about 3-1/2 miles you will then be on a portion of Highway 68 West that is also called the Holman Highway. Stay on Highway 68 West/Holman Highway until it becomes a city street called Forest Avenue. Continue on Forest Avenue for about 1 mile and make a left turn onto Sinex Avenue.
